Colleen cofounded ContentWRX, a software service that has collected more than 60,000 data sets to assess content effectiveness. She also is the publisher of Content Science Review, a magazine and education platform with content insights contributed by leading brands such as Alibaba, IHG, Avery Dennison, AirBnB, American Cancer Society, IBM, WebMD, and more. Colleen wrote the cornerstone content book Clout: The Art and Science of Influential Web Content. Brian Anderson is a Principal Designer with Cox Communications. He specializes in Design Thinking and is working on a culture change in Cox through employee-facing projects like improving new employee onboarding and dashboards for investigating and responding to breaks in the cable plant. He has been practicing the science and art of User Experience for 20 years with companies such as AT&T, Panasonic, and IBM. He has been granted 6 U.S. patents for design on mobile phones and security applications.
Lauren Langley is Senior Product Designer with SalesLoft. She leads UX and design initiatives that bring usability and delight to a high-performing SaaS product. Before SalesLoft, she was UX Lead with If/Then, where she was responsible for user experience, strategy, and information architecture. Prior to If/Then, Lauren was an Expert Interaction Designer with Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., where she designed and developed web and mobile applications for Turner’s brands like CNN, Cartoon Network, NBA.com, and TNT.
Matthew is a User Researcher with over 10 years of experience designing enterprise applications for the advertising, marketing, and healthcare fields. He holds a M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction and a B.S. in Computer Science, both from Georgia Tech. He occasionally instructs at General Assembly, teaching a workshop entitled "Usability in Practice." Matthew lives in Marietta, and currently spends his time preparing the house for the arrival of his first son in March.
J Cornelius is the Founder and President of Nine Labs, an experience and strategy consultancy in Atlanta GA. Jenn Downs is the Director of User Experience Design at Points of Light and adores the web and what it can do for the world. She got her start in tech with MailChimp and is now an internationally welcomed speaker in the UX community. Jenn is a mentor for Code for America and invented the slightly awkward, yet truly helpful, Laptop Hugging Method for remote mobile testing.
Outside of being a web nerd, Jenn dotes on her dogs Dickie and Waylon, is a songwriter, and plays bass and sings in Atlanta bands The Sunset District and The Downs. She has also started taking drum lessons and thinks that drums just might be her musical calling.
I started my design journey at The University of Georgia studying graphic design for my BFA then pursued an MA Ed. with a focus on visual thinking processes, so I have always been fascinated with how people think, interact with surfaces, and the potential of experience design. I focused my design thinking toward digital mediums and have worked in various capacities as an in-house designer with both small organizations, offering a wide breadth of design services, to large companies such as Oracle & The Coca-Cola Company as a part of dedicated internal UX teams. Currently I work as a Visual Designer at VMware AirWatch as part of a multi-discipline UX team committed to crafting quality experiences for our customers.
Sophia is the founder of Rewired, a UX studio based in Atlanta, GA. Rewired consults to clients that are innovating in education, health, and the Atlanta community. She often traveling across the United States or around the world, teaching her object-oriented UX methodologies. Before founding Rewired to focus on the little guys, Sophia led UX efforts for goliath clients such as AT&T, Napa Auto Parts, the Internal Revenue Service, the Australian Tax Office, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. After earning a computer science degree from Georgia Institute of Technology, and spending the next 13 years expanding her knowledge and understanding of a continuously evolving field, Mandy’s proud to be on the frontlines of end user computing at VMware AirWatch where she leads a team comprising of user experience, visual design and content strategy disciplines. Su brings 20 years of experience in user research, experience strategy, experience design, and creative leadership. Annick Huber is a UX Designer studying Human-Computer Interaction at GA Tech. She has experience working as an artist for games and animation, and has been working on many projects as a student at GA Tech including Virtual Reality experiences. Currently a master's student in Digital Media at Georgia Tech, she has worked on projects of various media, including aquarium tour design with AR, interactive narrative in VR, national parks information design on web, travel experience with leap motion, UX design for mobile apps, etc. She cares about creating better entertaining and learning experiences with digital design, focusing on interaction design and storytelling. Joshua A. Fisher is a Ph.D. student at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he studies how to design augmented, mixed, and virtual reality experiences. He has published in numerous journals on the mechanics and interaction design of virtuality. Outside his research, he teaches classes on communication and culture with a focus on using emerging media for community empowerment. He is currently working on a VR narrative, an MR installation in Malmö, Sweden, and an AR cultural heritage project for Atlanta's West Side community.
I am a second year student studying human computer interaction. I have always been interested in moving away from the cell phone screens and looking at room-scale experiences. Having started with projection based room-augmentation (http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2732779), I moved to VR last summer and have continued studying the field till date.
Amit is a UX Designer in the HCI program at Georgia Tech. With a background in neuroscience and a knack for 3D printing, Amit has worked on projects ranging from assistive tech for visually impaired, redesigning the MARTA experience, and interactive storytelling in VR.
