Bringing together architectural, design and commerce training, she explores new ways to define and understand the user experience as a whole. Her diverse insight allows her to solve complex usability problems from both a human and technical standpoint.
Collaborating alongside content strategists, researchers, product managers, developers as well as Shopify users, Jacinthe creates tools that meaningfully impact the lives of merchants around the world.
Annie Crombie is the founder of Re-Think Strategic Consulting Inc. Since 1999, Annie has focused on providing strategic direction to public sector web projects including business transformation, user-centred design, information architecture and social media. In particular, many of Annie’s projects have focused on government service to business. Annie has an MBA from Dalhousie University and UX Certification from the Nielsen Norman Group.
Nicola is a content strategist at Shopify's Montreal office. She collaborates with UX designers, researchers, and product managers to create features and products that help over 300,000 merchants succeed in ecommerce.
Her goal on every project is to advocate for merchants and their needs. Pulling from data, research, and empathy, she designs content that helps to keep Shopify’s UX usable and understandable.
Dana Tessier has designed and implemented knowledge management strategies for high tech companies in fast-paced and high-growth environments. She is currently the Director of Knowledge Management at Shopify where she is improving the knowledge resources for both the internal support team and for Shopify's customers. She is a graduate of McGill University’s Library and Information Studies program where she specialized in Knowledge Management. She has published and presented on serendipity in information seeking, e-learning, information architecture, knowledge sharing, and knowledge management strategy.
Manu is the digital policy chief at the Treasury Board Secretariat. His team of talented content and IA experts is responsible managing the rules that govern the IA for Canada.ca. He’s the recipient of a 2017 Public Service Award of Excellence for demonstrating leadership in collaborative approaches with citizens. His academic background includes studies in Biology, Cognitive Psychology and Computer Science. He’s has been working in Web for over 17 years, and has dealt with some big, ugly systems and redesigns, and some pretty nice ones too.
Peter manages the product design for Canada.ca, leading a small but mighty team of usability researchers and interaction designers. Over a 20 year career in the public service, he’s also managed Web and print publishing, designed corporate identity systems, and copyedited far too many news releases and annual reports. While in academia, he obtained a BA in Anthropology and dabbled in literary criticism and archaeology.
